The Johnsons

The Johnsons had hoped to get some fall looking shots before the winter weather moved in and stripped all the colorful leaves from the trees.  Unfortunately, we didn’t get a chance to shoot until after a big, wet snow storm ripped through central, and northern, Colorado leaving most of the trees leafless, and in many cases severely damaged.  We scoured the area for a location that didn’t look too much like a war zone and ended up at one of the parking areas along the Poudre River Trail.  I think we still did a pretty good job finding ways to show more fall-ish scenes than wintery ones.

Random Stuff

My brother-in-law, Kevin, enjoys tossing his daughter, Charlotte into the air.

Luke Figgs

Luke is a senior at Dayspring Christian Academy in Greeley, Colo., and a star on the school’s football team.  Figgs has also been playing piano since he was seven years old and will be studying music when he attends the University of Northern Colorado next fall.  The first image below is the one that I turned in for publication in the Greeley Tribune, the second was an outtake as I was setting my lights and I kind of dig it.

A Cultural Affair

I did a little freelance work for the Greeley Tribune today with my first assignment at the Greeley Community Center.  A Cultural Affair was a celebration of the different immigrant groups that have settled in Greeley and Weld County and their contributions to the community.  There were dance performances, informational displays and a fashion show highlighting the typical garb of each group.
