Vertical Arrays

With my new direction in careers, I have made it a point to get out and just shoot…shoot what I want to shoot. So, when I saw that my good friend, Kirk, and the Vertical Arrays were playing at Surfside 7 in Fort Collins, I decided to head North with my camera gear in-tow. This kind of shoot is really getting back to my early days of photographing live music — a cramped bar with no real lighting to speak of, but filled with people out to see some local music…oh, and loud…very loud.

I had a great time, the music was awesome, and I got to see a friend I haven’t seen in a while. Check them out if you get the chance…

Slow Caves

I was hired by an awesome local band to get some portraits for them to use in self-promotions as they work to gain a following in Northern Colorado. Fort Collins’ own, Slow Caves, are a bunch of high school guys who describe themselves as a, “Synth-Punk band from Northern Colorado, inspired by late nights in Hollywood, car chases, red eye flights and vintage skateboard videos.”

David Dugan – Guitar
Jackson Lamperes – Drums
Jake Lyon – Bass guitar
Jakob Mueller – Vocals, Guitar, Synth
Oliver Mueller – Guitar, Synth, Vocals

Krewe of Baloo Mardi Gras

This was the third time that I have gotten the chance to cover this raucous event for the Krewe of Baloo. They are some of the nicest, most down-to-earth people I know, and they really know how to have a good time. Music, dancing, body painting, aerial acrobats, a costume contest, and a parade…this party had it all!© Peter Heacox© Peter Heacox© Peter Heacox© Peter Heacox© Peter Heacox© Peter Heacox© Peter HeacoxI set up a portrait station with a white background to make the colorful costumes really pop…here are some of my favorites.© Peter Heacox© Peter Heacox© Peter Heacox© Peter Heacox

Jeff and April, the King and Queen of the night.

Bruce, Lacy, and Ethan

Here we have another really fun crew that I get to photograph on a somewhat regular basis. Their little man, Ethan, has been growing like crazy, and it has been awesome getting to capture his energy on “film” for them over the last few years.

Zachary

After overcoming a bunch of obstacles along the way, the parents of this little dude are pretty excited to have him in their lives. He is just a couple of weeks old in these photos and wasn’t feeling too good at the time, but we managed to catch some good photos of him…and some of those expressions are priceless.

The Burrs

TJ and the rest of the Burr family are always fun to photograph. It’s pretty hard to take a bad shot of the kids…and the adults are pretty cool, too. Here are some of my favorites from shooting at a park in Windsor on a relatively nice day, for January.

Kade Joseph

Here we have Mr. Kade Joseph, Lauren and Kevin’s little man, and Charlotte’s little brother…what a good lookin’ fella. Congrats (though belated) to the family on their new addition.
